Discussions on the technical project of Dviete river restoration

A meeting of representatives of the Latvian Fund for Nature, state Ltd 'Meliorprojekts' and company 'Stroming' from the Netherlands with the aim to negotiate on the first draft of technical project of Dviete river restoration took place on May 14, 2012 in Riga, in the premises of the LFN. Zigurds Zēns from 'Meliorprojekts' presented the project draft. LFN was represented by Edmunds Račinskis and Ilze Priedniece from Dviete LIFE+ project, the company 'Stroming' – by Alphons van Winden.

Technical project of Dviete river restoration in a section of 2.4 km (between the bridge of Dviete-Bebrene road and Skuķu lake), planned within the LIFE+ project, is being elaborated by state Ltd ‘Meliorprojekts’. The experts from ARK Nature and company ‘Stroming’ from the Netherlands are involved as consultants. They have large experience in hydro-technical works of river restoration.

During the meeting first draft of the technical project was discussed. Participants of the meeting agreed on improvements of the project. It is planned to complete elaboration of the technical project till June 30, 2012.
