Reflection of project activities in the conference

Two posters, reflecting activities of Dviete LIFE+ project, were included in the 71th Scientific Conference of the University of Latvia at the beginning of 2013. Dāvis Gruberts (Daugavpils University) presented a poster „Monitoring of ground water level in Dviete floodplain nature park in 2012" within the section "Climate and waters" in the Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences on January 30. Monitoring takes place to evaluate the impact of Dviete river restoration on ground-water level in various distances from the river.

Rūta Abaja, representing the Institute for Environmental Solutions within the project,  took part in the section of Zoology and Animal Ecology in the Faculty of Biology on February 1 with the poster „Advantages and shortcomings of the suitable habitats model, based on experts knowledge. An example of modeling Corncrake habitats in Dviete floodplain”. This is the first of two models, which are planed to elaborate within the LIFE+ project for evaluation of Corncrake habitat suitability.
