Lecture on fish species of conservation concern

A lecture „Special fishes of Latvia", organised by Nature Protection board, took place in the Information centre of Dviete floodplain on December 5, 2012. The audience was local people (40 persons in total). Lectors were experts from Nature Protection board Regīna Indriķe, Inita Bružika and Irēna Broliša. Audience was introduced to 10 especially protected and threatened fish species in Latvia – Salmon Salmo salar, Trout Salmo trutta, River Lamprey Lampetra fluviatilis, Eel Anguilla Anguilla, Vendace Coregonus albula, Whitefish Coregonus lavaretus, Grayling Thymallus thymallus, Twaite shad Alosa fallax, Asp Aspius aspius and Sabrefish Pelecus cultratus, received information on nature-friendly angling  as well as took part in educational games.
